Joseph W. Swett of Plymouth, formerly of Canton and Dorchester, died peacefully with his family in his home on December 22, 2018. Born in Norwood, MA on May 1, 1928. Son of the late Warren J. and Alice M. (McDonald) Swett. He was educated in Boston and a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, Joe went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier for over 40 years in Boston. He enjoyed his daily walks on White Horse Beach and time spent with his is survived by his loving sister Harriet A. Swett whom he made his home with. His nieces Virginia Fey, Margaret Croke and Alice Seekell, his nephews Robert Colbert, Thomas Colbert and Dennis Colbert and many great-nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Virginia M. (Swett) Colbert and Edward C. Swett and nephew of the late James, John and Edward McDonald.
