Joseph Vincent Aliberto Jr. of Parkland, Florida, passed away on May 5, 2022 at the age of 83. Born March 8, 1939, in Yonkers, New York to parents Lillian and Joseph.
Joe served in the United States Army obtaining the rank of sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1964. Prior to his move to Florida, Joe was a long time resident of New City, New York, and co-owner of New City E-Z Hardware. He retired as a member of Local 580 Ornamental Ironworkers Union, working on many notable building projects in New York City, including the current air traffic control tower at John F Kennedy Airport. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 1682 in New City.
As a young man, Joe enjoyed playing the guitar and performing with his band. He was also an aviation buff and earned his private pilot’s license. Joe was an avid golfer and member of Otterkill Golf Country Club in Orange County, NY and Tuscany Bay Golf League in Boynton Beach, FL. Anyone who knew Joe recognized his kindness and his selflessness in helping family, friends and neighbors.
Joe is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Joseph and Vincent, daughter-in-law Mariella, grandchildren Joseph, Eloisa and Catalina, sisters Marie Ferretti and Leanore Masiello and an abundance of nephews and nieces.
