Our beloved Joseph V. Beasock III, 54, of Rome NY went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, after a lengthy Illness, on the early winter morning of Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, in the same quiet, reserved and dignified way that he lived his life.
Joe was born Dec 3, 1966 in Holyoke MA, the son of Joseph V. Beasock Jr and Margaret (Peggy) McRae Beasock. Joe honored and adored his parents. He was a wonderful son.
Joe was baptized in Holyoke, MA, made his Holy Communion in St. Mary’s parish in West Leyden, NY and his Confirmation in St Petersburg, FL. He attended catholic schools in NY and FL. He earned an associate degree in computer science from MVCC in 1999 and his Bachelor degree in Computer Science at SUNY Institute of Technology, Marcy, NY in 2001. (Joe was on the Presidents list with a 3.8 GPA.) He tutored at both colleges and was offered jobs there upon completion of his studies. However, he went on to work at Rome Research Corporation as an Electrical Engineer and more recently as a software engineer at PJ Green in Utica, NY. (A job he loved to go to each day.)
Joe was a high achiever with a brilliant mind all while remaining humble. (Traits he learned at his father’s knee). He loved working with his hands and wasn’t afraid to get them dirty. He was a do-it-yourself kind of guy always laboring and aspiring the next project. Along side his dad he would build and repair anything including computers for many friends and family. He was always thoughtful, kind and generous.
Joe loved to play guitar, go fishing, gardening, carpentry, fish keeping, his dogs and using his classic Ford tractor. He loved nature, was amazed by it and spent as much time as possible in it. He cherished his quality time with his Aunt Candy and Uncle Roger on the farm.
Joe had an astonishing sense of humor. He was quick-witted and clever and delighted in a tasteful prank whenever the opportunity presented itself. He was always goofing around, being a wise guy, and teasing his friends and family. He was full of life and loved to share laughter and fulfilling life experiences. To know him was to love him, especially his laughter, it was genuine and contagious. He was true through and through to all of us. Dedicated and thoughtful, he didn’t mind making long trips (always taking the scenic route) to make time for people he cared about.
More than one generation of his younger nieces, nephews, and cousins will always remember him as the big kid they all flocked to play with at the family Christmas party. He will remain in our hearts forever. As a loving and devoted son, Joe kept close ties with his mom and dad throughout his life and brought them endless love, joy and support.
Joe recently met the love of his life in whom he found a kindred spirit to share love, peace and joy: Sue Fruin, the “girl next door”. “Joe was my miracle,” Sue said and Sue says what all of us felt about Joe:
“For the first time after my husband died, I felt happy. Joe made me feel complete. I felt loved and special. I felt like I was living and not just existing. For me, Joe would say I was always smiling. I wasn’t aware of it but it was because he made me so happy. I felt joy but also a sense of peace when I was with Joe. I was so grateful to have him in my life. Joe always said none of us is promised tomorrow and I know how true that is, but I couldn’t imagine a life without Joe. I felt that as soon as I met him. I looked forward to seeing him every day once we met. I thought we would grow old together.”
Everyone from his oldest family to his newest friends was impacted by Joes presence and will carry their own exceptional memories of the unforgettable guy that could make anyone smile.
Joe is survived by his loving parents, Joseph Jr. and Margaret (Peggy) Beasock; sisters Robin Coleman of Potsdam, NY and Tammy Murray of Massena, NY; a very special girlfriend, Susan Fruin, who was the girl next door and made Joe’s life happy and blessed this pass year. She was his constant till his last day never wavering. Also left behind are aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins and so many friends and co-workers, all dear to his heart. Joe was predeceased by his brother, Randy Beasock, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
