Joseph Stephen Ventry, 80, of Winder, Georgia, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Gwinnett Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of the late Michael and Clara (Cavallaro) Ventry of Niagara Falls, NY. Joe is survived by his wife, Rose (LaScala) Ventry; four children, Joseph M. Ventry of Niagara Falls, NY, Michael (Kelly) Ventry of Winder, GA, Michelle (Michael) Scarbrough of Loganville, GA and Mary Grace (Robert) Vogel of Auburn, GA; eight grandchildren, Bryan and Joseph Ventry, Michael and Danielle Ventry, Grant Fox, Nicholas Scarbrough, Ashley and Jessica Vogel; one brother, Michael (Mary Lou) Ventry and one sister, Mary (late Ronald) Lundberg, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ventry, brother-in-law, Sal (Lorraine) LaScala, sister-in-law, Josie (Richard) Colosimoand many nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother, Stephen M. Ventry, predeceased him. Joe was a resident of Niagara Falls, NY, for over 50 years. He retired in 1986 and moved to Las Vegas, NV, eventually moving to Atlanta to be closer to his family. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Joe served for 2 years in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. He was one of the founders of the Cataract Little Loop Youth Football Association. Joe was a member of the Niagara Falls Bowling Association; Italian Sons and Daughters of America Cataract Lodge; Atlanta Poker Association; and Knights of Columbus. In 2006, Joe was inducted into the Old Timer s Sports Hall of Fame in Niagara Falls, NY. He served as an usher at St.
