Joseph Roland Ladner, 89, of Necaise Crossing, MS passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his bedside Sunday, July 1, 2018.Roland was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He was also a dedicated teacher, coach, and mentor who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.Roland was a graduate of Sellers High School, Pearl River Junior College, and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He served two years in the United States Army in Yokohama, Japan. He was an accomplished basketball coach, and proud math teacher at Sellers High School, Harrison Central High School, Hancock North Central High School, Phillips College, and Pearl River Central High School for 42 was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, supporting the Church as a Parish Council Member, lector, and fundraiser. His interests included cattle farming, growing and selling vegetables, traveling, fishing, and helping . Ladner and Willie Ladner Jr.; his sisters, Bernice Herrington, Elodie Peterson, and Fay is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrdesia Ladner; his children, Mona (Thomas) Reynolds, Michael (Leslie) Ladner, and Melinda (Danny) Ladner; his grandchildren, Maegan (Bryan) Cox, and Matthew (Megan) Reynolds; his step grandchildren, Abbey Arcement, Eli Arcement, and Clara Arcement and numerous nieces and nephews.. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church (27074 St. Matthew Church Road, White Cypress, off Hwy 603) on Friday July 6 from 5pm – 10pm and Saturday July 7 from 9am – 12pm.. Matthew Cemetery with fellowship in the Church Hall afterwards.
