DAVISJoseph Robert “Joe” Davis, age 74, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011. Beloved husband of Mary Blanche Postell Davis. Father of Mary Ashley Garrett (Randy), John Franklin Davis, II (Lingay), and Joseph Robert Davis, III. Grandfather of Scott and Andrew Garrett, Stephen, Megan, Reilly, and Logan Davis. Son of the late John Franklin Davis and the late Mac Elizabeth Ledbetter Davis. Brother of Dorothy Davis Windham. Uncle to a host of nieces and in Cotton Valley, LA and a resident of New Orleans for 45 years. He graduated from Cotton Valley High School and Northwestern State College, Natchitoches. He served in the U. S. Army Reserve for 7 years. His working career encompassed positions as field supervisor, estimator, and client development officer for marine and general contractors in the New Orleans-Baton Rouge was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, avid golfer, voracious reader, restaurant critic, and captivating storyteller. He was generous, strong, loyal, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
