Joseph “Joe” Rico Smith, age 74, of Macclenny, Florida passed away February 4, 2014 at Suwannee Valley Care Center. He was born in Mulberry, Florida on October 10, 1939 to the late James Wesley Smith and Marguerite Polk Smith. Joe has been a resident of Macclenny since 2007 after moving from Lakeland, FL. He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam era and later earned an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Design.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Diane E. Smith of Macclenny, FL; his son, Frederick Key (Andrea) Smith of Macclenny, FL; his brother, Jerry (Karen) Smith of Mulberry, FL; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Emily Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
