Joseph R. Brennan, 84 of Woodmont in Milford, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Milford Hospital. Born on June 28, 1926 in Mt. Kisco, NY, he was the son of the late Reginald Joseph and Geraldine Bartsch Brennan. He was the husband of Nancy Parkinson Brennan of Milford.

Joe was a graduate of Mt. Kisco High School, where he was an accomplished athlete in football, basketball and baseball, after which he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Campaign as a Gunners Mate, Seaman 1st Class. Joe graduated from Arnold College with graduate work done at Yale and Southern CT State Universities. He worked in the Orange School System for 33 years as a Physical Education teacher at Mary L. Tracy and Peck Place Schools. During his retirement, Joe enjoyed working for the Hughes Corporation on their corporate yacht, Serenity,  for 10 years. He was a member of the State Teachers Retirements Association. He was a member of St.

In addition to his loving wife, Joe was the proud father of  his children, Robert Brennan and his wife Sara, Patricia Brennan and her husband Charles Haigh, Michael Brennan and his wife Carol, all of Milford, John Brennan of Longwood, FL and Katherine Stohr of Spofford, NH; nine grandchildren, Numi, Ifrane, Aila, Kaelyn Brennan, Benjamin and Samantha Stohr, and Shane, Colby and Owen Brennan; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his brother, Reginald Brennan and his two sisters, Ann Stiller and Dorothy Wilson.

At this time, the family of Joseph would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to all of the staff members from Milford Hospital and Milford Health Care for taking such good care of Joe over the past few years.
