Newark – Joseph Polakiewicz, 86 of Hoffman Street died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at the DeMay Living Center.

Mr. Polakiewicz was born the son of Michael and Ella Polakiewicz on December 17, 1915 in Rochester, New York. He retired from Garlock Corp. in 1980 after 36 years as a machinist . Mr. Polakiewicz enjoyed puttering around the house. He was a member of St. Michael Church and the VFW of Newark, Post 2883.
Mr. Polakiewicz is survived by his loving and devoted wife Clara Gobeyn Polakiewicz; daughters and sons-in-law Bonnie and Robert Searles of Shortsville and Donna and Richard VanNorman of Newark; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers Leonard (Doris) of Newark and Teofel Polakiewicz of CA.; sisters Veronica Chacker and Josephine Green both of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Polakiewicz was predeceased by his brother Edward and sister Julia.
