Joseph P. Micale, 58, of Southington was suddenly taken into God’s arms on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at home. Born on Oct. 16, 1953 in Priolo, Province of Saracusa, Scicily to Santo Micale of Rocky Hill and the late Sebastiana (Magnano) Micale, he grew up in New Britain and lived in Southington for the last 32 years. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother Joe leaves his wife of 36 years Roberta (Petano) Micale two beautiful daughters Marie Ann Stuckman and her husband Erik of Bristol, Ashley Lynn Micale of Southington, the light of Joe’s life were his three “little sparkles” his grandchildren Haley Rose, Emily Rose and Brady Joseph Stuckman. Also surviving are his loving sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Frank Carbone of Rocky Hill, his father-in-law Robert Petano of Newington, his sisters-in-law and husbands Barbara and Bob Sewall of Whitman, MA and Bonnie and Andrew Yackovetsky of Bozrah and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his infant sister Marie Ann, his mother-in-law Miriam Petano and his brother-in-law Robert R. Petano, Jr. Joe graduated from E.C. Goodwin Tech, New Britain in 1972 as an electrician. He later graduated from the American Institute of Applied Science. Joe had been employed by the State of Connecticut, Dept. of Public Safety as a fingerprint technician, where he was an expert in his field, for 33 years, retiring in 2005. He was published in the International Association of Identification, in 2000. Joe was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Silver City Council #2, the Board of Directors of the Interstate Police Officers Assoc., the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Joe loved the beach and his furry little canine companion “Max”. Most of all Joe was just a great person, who loved his family and his mission in life was to take care of them and keep them happy. Joe was the proud godfather of Brian Magnano of Bristol and Jesse Sewall of Whitman, MA.
