Joseph R. King, 45, of Garden Street, Emlenton, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Clarion Hospital of complications from injuries he sustained in a serious fall in 1997. The accident had left Mr. King severely and permanently disabled.
Mr. King was born on March 4, 1964 in Emlenton. He was the son of Dolores Patterson King of Emlenton and the late Robert L. King.
Mr. King was a 1984 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. Prior to his accident, he enjoyed cooking, camping, playing pool, playing cards, and baseball. Joe will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his gentle smile, and his courageous will to live. He had been employed as a professional painter in Warren, Ohio. Following his accident, he and his family returned to Emlenton to be close to Joe’s family.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister Catherine Slaugenhaupt, a brother, Rodger L. King, his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Beatrice King, his maternal grandparents, Charles and Carrie Patterson.
