Joseph P. Buckno of Burlington died Friday, September 23rd at Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro, he was 90 years of age. Born in Burlington and a lifetime area resident he had been employed as a driver for United Parcel Service for 25 years after which he was employed by the City of Burlington for 17 years retiring in 1984. A United States Army veteran he served his country honorably during World War II.
A member of the American Legion Post #79 and the V.F.W. Post #1817 both in Burlington, Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking and family gatherings. He especially enjoyed flying to Oregon to visit his nephew.
Predeceased by his wife Florence “Betty” Buckno, who died in 1999, Joe is survived by his children and their spouses: Barbara (Daniel) Lehner of Vineland, NJ, Bonnie Buckno and Joseph Buckno both of Burlington. He is also survived by his two grandchildren; Michael Lehner and Dakota Lehner as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
