Mr. Joseph Marciano, 80, of Heritage Village died Saturday June 11, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis (Borrelli) Marciano.
Mr. Marciano was born October 6, 1930 in Waterbury, son of the late Anthony and Alice (Carberry) Marciano. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Cheshire Academy Prep School. He was also a graduate of the Submarine School in New London and was a veteran of the US Navy. In 1950 Joe started his own business, Naugatuck Window and Glass Co. that he owned for 39 years before retiring in 1988. During that time he also played amateur baseball and tried out for the Boston Red Sox. He started the 444 Boy Scout Troop and served as their Scout Master. He was a resident of Middlebury for 40 years, where he was on the board of several commissions and served under 5 town selectman before moving to Heritage Village in 1999. Joe was a member of St.
