Joseph M. Narog, age 87, of La Salle passed away peacefully on December 29, 2012 at Heritage Manor in Mendota.
Joseph was born on September 19, 1925 in Debina, Poland. He grew up on his family’s small farm in Poland until he was 14 when he was taken from his family and forced into manual labor in Germany during World War II. After the War, he worked as a guard for the United States Army in Germany and then moved to the United States in 1950, settled in Peru where he worked at Maze Nails until his retirement. Joseph was a proud member of the Polish National Alliance and a longtime member of the Illinois Valley Racing Pigeon Club. He and his wife enjoyed retirement in La Salle where they were avid gardeners and raised pigeons and rabbits.
Joseph is survived by his loving daughter Jennifer Sucher (Matthew) of Golf, Illinois, his beloved grandsons, Jacob, Evan and David Sucher, his son Patrick Narog of Pinellas Park, Florida, and his sisters Wladyslawa Obiedzinska and Maria Rusinek of Poland.
He is preceded in death by his cherished wife Lois (Walgenbach) Narog and his brother William Narog.
