Joseph “Joe” Levesque was born on June 26, 1930 in Bristol, Connecticut as the oldest son of Raoul and Lucy Levesque. With parents who were born and raised in Quebec, Canada, Joe had a wonderful time spending summers on the family farms in that area, working and playing with cousins and learning to speak French. It was during these times that Joe developed a strong work ethic that continued throughout his life.

While serving at Luke Air Force Base as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War, Joe attended a dance at St Mary’s in Phoenix, where he met the love of his life, Connie. Both of them loved dancing, and they immediately knew that this initial meeting on the dance floor would be something special and lead to a marriage of over 68 years.

After leaving the Air Force in 1954, Joe began a career at AiResearch Corp. in Phoenix. He continued his education at night school to attain his degree while starting a family of three children: Jerry, Shelley, and Mike. During his 35 years at the same company (which later became Garrett Manufacturing, and Honeywell), Joe eventually became the Director of Quality Control in Airline Services. This position brought him to a life of travel around the world, and allowed Connie to travel with him.

He always had a love for family, and introduced them to many different activities, including fishing, hunting, skiing, music, and many other sports. During the years his children attended Gerard High School he and Connie found themselves immersed in the parent support groups that brought them lifetime friendships with many other parents who shared the same values. The annual Christmas singalong with these friends was continued for nearly 50 years.

After retiring in 1989, Joe and Connie moved to Flagstaff, Arizona. Being idle was not in Joe’s DNA, and he found a way to work at something that he truly enjoyed. He invested in a travel agency, becoming a partner, and found himself very successful at selling cruises and continuing his travel throughout the world. Friends and family joined them over the years, and Joe enjoyed every minute of bringing the joy of travel to everyone.

His family continued growing over the years also. He is survived by his wife, Connie; brother Roger (Linda); children Jerry (Alice), Shelley (Riney), and Mike (Ana); grandchildren Ashlyn (Carlo), Brian, Shawn (Aymi), Angie (Chris), Megan (Chris), Kristin (Mike), and Kyle; and great grandchildren Lucy, Corbin, Clara, Avery, Brody, Juliana, Will, Leo, Olivia, Amelia, Grayson, Joey, and a new great grandchild expected in April.

Joe leaves a legacy of honesty, integrity, and generosity for all those who enjoyed knowing him. His family brought immense joy in his life, and he will truly be missed by all. We wish him eternal peace and the joy that he so brought to us during his time on this earth.
