Joseph “Joe” L. Holding, 88, of Anderson, passed away May 3, 2016 after a brief illness.
He was born July 30, 1927 in Greenfield, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Joe graduated from Anderson High School, Class of 1945. He served his country in the US Army Constabulary during the post World War II occupation of Germany from 1945-1947. He retired in 1988 as an Engineer for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors with 32 years of service. He was a 50 year member of the Middletown Masonic Lodge #271, Scottish Rite Valley, Murat Temple Shrine and Madison County Shrine Club. Joe is survived by his loving spouse whom he married August 6, 1948, Cora (LeMond) Holding, daughters, Deborah Maynard and Kathy (Michael) Fox; grandchildren, Amber Maynard and Michael Maynard; great-grandchildren, John Maynard and Jason Maynard; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Danny and Frances Zook.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Holding; mother, Doris Holding; and siblings, Betty Bankston and David Holding.
