Joseph “Joe” John Janecek III, age 64, lived in Spirit Lake with his wife, Cher. Joe passed away of heart failure on Friday January 23, 2015 at Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake.
Joe was born in Detroit Lakes, MN on December 6, 1950 to Joseph John Janecek II and Jeannette Jeral. He married the love of his life, Cher Drager on August 24, 1979 in Mandan, ND. Joe loved to hunt and fish. His other hobbies were woodworking, painting, needlepoint, beadwork, working in his flower beds and most of all spending time with his wife. He also enjoyed visits from his step children and step grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Jeannette Johnson of Detroit Lakes, MN; his wife, Cher of Spirit Lake; two step children, Willy (Dana) Fetch of Rapid City, SD and Lori Fetch and her fiancée Keith Jolin of Elk Ponit, SD; eight step grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Johnson of Canton, SD, Joshua Klein and his fiancé Chelsea Thompson of Hurley, SD, Nicole Klein of Sioux Falls, SD, Jeffrey Fetch and Jamee Fetch of Bismark, ND, Tyler Granaden and his fiancée Jess Jenson, Nickalas Finney and his fiancé Laressa Jensen all of Rapid City, SD; five step great grandchildren, Natalie, Baylee, Briley, Breanna and Zhane; aunts; and a number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and David Janecek; step-father, Harlan Johnson; father, Joseph John Janecek II; and uncles.
