Muncie-Joseph “Joe” A.
Mr. Smith graduated from Logansport High School in 1956 and later attended both Indiana University Kokomo and Purdue University majoring in business. Joe married Ollie Jo (Warford) Smith on February 17, 2001 in Muncie and she survives. He had worked as an Insurance Agent for Western Southern Life Insurance Company for approximately 8yrs prior to his retirement. Mr. Smith also had worked for the Albany Golf Course as a pro shop attendant for approximately 12yrs. part time.
Joe was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, the Elks, Eagles and the Independent Order of Foresters as well. He enjoyed Golfing, Bowling and Tennis. Mr. Smith was proud to be a Purdue Alumni Booster and had attended the North side Assembly of God.
Besides his wife of 12 years Ollie Jo, he is survived by three daughters, Laura McKinney (husband-Gary), Panama City, Florida, Terri Stringfellow (husband-David), Richardson, Texas and JoLynne Hall (husband-Greg), Adrian, Michigan; four step children, Tony Moody, Tonya Walker, both of Muncie, Todd Moody (wife-Annabelle)Yankton, South Dakota and Tina Gibson (husband-Kevin), Luray; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Megan in 1993.
