Joseph Jett Anderson “The Downest”, age 62, departed this life on November 28, 2021. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 6, 1959, to Sallie M. Anderson and Joseph Jett Barnett, Sr.
Joe attended McCormick Elementary School in Chicago and graduated from Harry E. Woods High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. After committing 17 years as a Team Leader, he retired from Wallace Expanding Company as well as working for Lane Bryant Company and a cook at Black Curtain for several years.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, son, Antwuan Newton, daughter, Shonnika “Nene” Burnett and Tinnish Maxey, nephew, Zachary and great-niece, Zoie. Also, preceded in death by grandparent, Ollie Robinson, great-grandmother, Mary Ann Scott, great-grandfather, Erly Byrd, uncles, Fenton Robinson and Lonnie Robinson and aunts, Carrie Clayton Robinson and Atlene Freeman.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Dorian Anderson, Recco English (April), Joseph English and Kevin Sadler; daughters, Tiffany Maxey, Tinniea Danielle Anderson-Duval (Ariston), Constance White, Tiarra Sadler, Cassandra Taylor and Tia Murphy. Sisters, Stephanie Anderson, Ruth Fairley and brother, Allen Anderson (Kim). Nieces/nephews; Dexter (Callie), Theodus Henry, Jr., Danielle, Jackie, Elizabeth, Tria, Sabrina, Lanish and Erintina; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
