Joseph J. Shipp, 80, of Peru, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.
Joseph was born March 15, 1930 in Princeton to Beckham and Lula(Burris) Shipp. He is an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Evelyn Keith on August 12, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in LaSalle. She died March 31, 2001. He worked for American Nickeloid Company for 35 years. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the VFW in LaSalle Post # 4668.
He is survived by his fiance, Florence Kepper of Peru; three children, Karen (Steve) Lashley of Tuscon, Arizona, Mike (Kathy) Shipp of Pampa, Texas and Laurie (Steve Vela) Shipp of LaSalle; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
