Joseph J. Kempter, 70, of 607 Bradley St., East Haven, passed away at home Sept. 21, 2009. Born in New Haven Aug. 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Augustine A. and Margaret Coppola Kempter. He is survived by a brother, Louis A. Kempter and a sister, Ann (Walter) Swierad, both of East Haven; a nephew, Scott Swierad of Killingworth; a niece, Sandra Woodhouse of East Haven; and was the great uncle of Kristine Swierad of Killingworth, Margaret & Christopher Woodhouse, both of East Haven.
