Joseph J. Baran, 81, of Bethlehem, died suddenly, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Kathryn R. (Melatti) Baran, who died on September 4, 2004. Born in Lansford, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Parambo) Baran. Joe worked as a computer programmer for many years, most recently with TEVA Pharmaceuticals. He was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, and also the Bethlehem Senior Center. Survivors: his loving daughter Lisa A. McCarten and husband John of Bethlehem; brother Michael Baran and wife Ann of Whitehall; companion Kathryn Fair of Bethlehem.
