Joseph H. Novak, Sr., 92, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Gloria L. (Carl) Novak. They would have been married for 61 years in August. Born on August 9, 1922 in Plains Township, he was the son of the late Frank and Edna (Terascavage) Novak. Joseph left school at the age of 15 and went to work on tugboats in Jersey City, NJ. until joining the Marines. Afterwards, he finished high school and went on to further his education at Lafayette College majoring in Mining and Engineering and graduated in 1953. He started his own accounting business and ventured on to acquire Queens Nutritional Products in 1977 with his wife, which he continued to own and operate, having worked his last day on Friday, May 8, 2015. Joseph honorably served his country with the U.S. Marines during World War II where he was stationed in the South Pacific. He was a member of St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, going to the casino and coin collecting. Surviving along with his loving wife, son, Joseph H. Jr. and wife Lori Sue of Bethlehem; daughters, Andrea Torres of Bethlehem; Susan Beckman and husband Jay of Marlton, NJ; grandchildren, Brian Torres and wife Emily, Mark Torres, Andrea Koval and husband Derek, Amanda Creager and husband Tony; step grandchildren, Logan, Lee, Lucas Tratnyek; great-grandchildren, Jackson Koval and Greyson Creager. He was predeceased by great-granddaughter, Breana and brother, John.
