He died on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Lima Manor. He was born on December 26, 1935 in Bowen, Illinois to the late Warren and Rhoda (McCoy) Allsup and was one of 14 children. He married Sharon Varvel and she survives in Marion.
Also surviving are 2 daughters; Mryna Hinton of Marietta, Edith (Mike) Straw of Marion, Joseph Allsup Jr of Lima, Wayne Allsup of Indian Lake, David Allsup of Georgia, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son; Larry Vincent Allsup.
Joseph was a U.S. Airforce Veteran.
He worked as a logger his entire life, including for his brother in the Kenton area.
Joe was a family man, who wanted to live a simple life and raise his family. He liked to help people and never knew a stranger.
When he wasn’t working, Joe enjoyed writing poetry and buying/selling old cars.
