Joseph B. Flynn, 72, of Bloomington, after a long illness went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 18, 2009.
He was born March 29, 1937 in Monroe County to John W. and Goldia C. Butcher Flynn. He was employed by Thomson Consumer Electronics, formerly RCA, and GE, for 37 years. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, also lawn and gardening. He especially loved growing flowers. He also enjoyed painting picture and making picture clocks for friends and family. He was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy J. Pardue Flynn of Bloomington, Two children, Jeffrey Bryan (Erin Harmon) Flynn, of Bloomfield, and Caprice Noell (Danny) Boruff of Fayetteville, Indiana. Six Granddaughters: Justine Danielle Burton (Kyle) Horn, Laci Joleen, Taylor Christine, Allison Mickinnzie Warthan. Also, Leslie Marie Harmon of Bloomington and Ashton Brooke Flynn of Bloomfield. One Grandson: Chase Bradon Flynn of Bloomfield. Four Great Grandchildren: Landen Kyle, Alexia McKinzie, Bryleigh Noell Horn and Morgan Alyse Warthan Stienbarger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Martha Jean Kent, and two brothers, Isaac Edward Flynn and Johnny Otis Flynn.
