Joseph Samedi, born on November 18, 1952 in Marbial, Jacmel, Haiti, was the child of Mr. Magueus Samedi and Mrs. Jumene Samedi. He was the third of 13 siblings. He attended primary school in Marbial and later returned to Port-au-Prince to continue his secondary education. He had a great passion for his studies. From an early age, He accepted Jesus as his personal savior, and he was an exceptional Christian. Very quickly, Joe was distinguished by his somewhat special character, his courage, his quick wit, and his sense of responsibility. At a very young age, he showed great maturity and his parents did not hesitate to entrust him with heavy responsibilities.
In 1981, he came to the United States in search of a better life. On July 23, 1983, he married his fiancée Emilie and the two shared a 37 year long union, an exceptional feat that only death put an end to. From their union three daughters were born, twins Lydie-Danielle and Lynn-Cassandre and Lunie.
A model husband and a conscious father who cared about his duties, Joe did not hesitate to sacrifice his own person to build the happiness of his family. A remarkably courteous, distinguished, jovial man, appreciated by all for his good manners. He boundlessly loved his family, he never failed in his duties as a husband and father. Sister Emilie a model woman, who kept her vows for better and for worse until the end. Joe’s family is eternally grateful. A big thank you to Sister Emilie. Joe’s family will never stop thanking sister Emilie for all she has done. It’s because of her and Joe that many of his siblings were able to come to the United States.
Joe had many chronic illnesses which led to him back and forth between the hospital, rehabilitation centers, and his house. Finally, on May 23, 2021 at 1:25 am, God called Joe home. The disease got the better of Joe’s body, however, it did not crush his spirit. Joe will always be with us through our memories. Joe has conquered death and has been liberated through our God. He is survived by his wife Emilie, his daughters, Lunie, Lydie-Danielle and her husband Lucien Frederic, and their children Lauren, Lucas, and Logan, Lynn-Cassandre and her husband Ted Melidor and their children Ethan, Evan, and Emma, as well as his siblings and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rest in Peace Joe! We will never forget you because you will forever be etched in all our hearts! Thank you.

Merci
