Joseph Melvin “Joe” Empey, 64, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 11, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Joe was born January 4, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Melvin Mitchell Empey and Joy Stoker Empey. He grew up and attended schools in Shelley and Idaho Falls, graduating from Shelley High School.
On May 25, 1973, he married Lori A. Jensen in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born two children, Kristopher and Pamela. Joe started his construction career with Bonneville Paving Co. with his dad. Joe and Lori made their home in Idaho Falls where Joe continued his construction career as a heavy equipment operator for the INL for 25 years. He retired in 2013.
