Joseph Edward Shore, son of Harvey and Stella Shore was born April 8, 1912 in Missouri and passed away June 5, 2014 at the age of 102 years one month and twenty seven days at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Joe lived most of his youth around the Williamson, Iowa area. Joe and Mary Howk were married April 8, 1939. They had two children, JoAnn(Ron) Tuttle and Janet (Richard) Boozell. Six grandchildren, Rhonda Bruce, Jeff Tuttle, Rick Boozell, Curtis Boozell, Deborah Warren and Kathryn Charleston. Fifteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Joe drove a truck for Lucas County and worked for John Deere as a machinist in Ottumwa. Joe and Mary spent most of their years farming south of Chariton until retiring in 1979 to the south side of Chariton.
Joe and Mary celebrated sixty years of marriage before her death in 1999. Recently, while still living in an assisted living in Norwalk, Iowa, Joe remarked that the weather would probably be warmer.
