Joseph E. Politowski, 79, of Holiday City, Carefree Section of Berkeley Twsp., NJ died Friday October 28, 2011 at Community Medical Center – Van Dyke Hospice, Toms River, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was a lifelong resident before moving to Berkeley Twsp 13 years ago. Joseph worked at C.F. Muller in Jersey City for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. Mr. Politowski was a US Army Korean War veteran.
He was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twsp. and was a member of the American Legion Post 129, Toms River, NJ. Surviving are his wife of 54 years Barbara (nee Curtis); 4 daughters JoAnne Barrett of Hillsborough, NJ, Barbara Tanfara of Hardwick, NJ, Diane Politowski-Bell of Unadilla, NY and Debra Bigg of Colonia, NJ; a sister Dorothy Politowski of Hoboken, NJ; 5 grandchildren Amy Lynn Barrett, Patrick and Noah Bigg, Joseph Bell and Kristina-Daryl Tanfara.
