Joseph Edward Lonergan of Mansfield, formerly of Stoughton and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict passed away on Tuesday October 16,2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 81 years old and the loving husband of the late Pearl F. (Arachesky) Lonergan to whom he was married to for over 41 years. Mr. Lonergan is survived by his children, Jean Johnson and her husband Mark of Mansfield, Steven Lonergan and his wife Marla of Sharon, his three sisters, Frannie Ritchie of Florida, Millie Doucette and her husband Robert of Florida, Barbara Jackson and her husband Wayne of New Hampshire and his brother Roland “Rollie” Lonergan of Stoughton. Other survivors include his 5 grandchildren, Tara O’Keefe and her husband Ryan of Mansfield, Jessica Johnson and Marissa Johnson also of Mansfield, Abby Lonergan, Sarabeth Lonergan both of Sharon and his 3 great-grandchildren, Cayden Campbell, Joey O’Keefe and Maggie Rae O’ was also a brother to the late James Lonergan, Pauline Salvason, Pat Hammond, Margaret Nelson, Leo Lonergan and Helen Galant.
