Joseph A. “Joe” DeCarlo, 91, formerly of 136 Oakwood Avenue and Diamond Ridge Independent Living in Troy, New York, passed away Friday, January 25, 2014 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born in Watervliet, NY on October 2, 1922 the son of the late Augustino DeCarlo and Felice Muccino DeCarlo. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Grace Graham DeCarlo and his loving step-mother Rose Bell DeCarlo. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by his brother and sisters; Frank DeCarlo, Adelaide DeCarlo, Angeline Moffre, Concetta Riberdy, and Julia Shook. Mr. DeCarlo is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Albert Magro of Fairview, WV and one son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Vicki DeCarlo, Charleston, SC; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mr. DeCarlo graduated from Watervliet High School and attended Hudson Valley Technical Institute in Troy before enlisting in the US Navy at the onset of World War II.
