Joseph D. Matthews, 33, of Bristol, beloved husband and best friend of April (Agostini) Matthews, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Bristol Hospital.
Joe was born September 16, 1976 in Bristol and has been a longtime resident.
Besides his wife, April, he is survived by his mother, Kathleen A. Bresnahan and her husband, Edward Shamper of Bristol; his sons, Antoni Matthews and William Matthews both of Bristol; his sisters and brothers, Dawn Shamper of Torrington, Edward Shamper, Jr. of Terryville, Elizabeth Shamper of Vermont, and Keith Shamper of Bristol; his mother-in-law, Leslie Carlson of Meriden; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, “Murphy”.
