Joseph Ferrero, 65, of Ottawa, passed away April 3, 2013 in Ottawa. M
Joe was born December 8, 1947 in Ottawa to Herman and Rena (Monterastelli) Ferrero. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1965. He received a B.A. from the University of Illinois and a Masters Degree in Earth Science from Northern Illinois University. He was co-owner of Herman’s Package Store, in Ottawa, with his brother, Jim. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Ottawa Avenue Cemetery Board, Board of Scout Museum, former member of Reddick Mansion Board, Knights of Columbus, Scout Master at St. Patricks and Utica Fireside White Sox Club.
He is survived by one brother, James (Elizabeth) Ferrero of Ottawa; one niece, Kathleen Ferrero of Champaign and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jon Ferrero. Pallbearers will be Vern Corrigan, Matt Nelson, Bob Armstrong, John Duback, Tim Burke, Jim Myre, Tom Aussem and Matt Walker.
