Joseph D. Costanzo, 81, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Broward Health North in Pompano Beach, Florida, after battling pneumonia. Born in Plainfield, NJ on March 14, 1940, Joe spent most of his life in Roselle Park, NJ where he raised his family before retiring to Florida.

Following graduation from Plainfield High School, Joe chose to serve his country as a Specialist E4 in the United States Army serving in France. After returning, he married Alberta Riccitelli of Roselle Park and raised three children. Joe was a talented carpenter and worked for the Carpenters and Joiners Union as a Foreman.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Susan Costanzo (nee: LaVecchia) of South Plainfield, NJ, his brother Daniel Costanzo of Jupiter, Florida, daughter Cheryl Ann, daughter Darla and son-in-law Karl Kielbasa of Barnegat, NJ, and former wife Alberta “Betty” Costanzo of Roselle Park.

Joe is survived by his sister Arlene Hochstadter and husband John of South Plainfield, daughter Diana Martin and husband Daniel T. of Roselle Park and son Albert Costanzo of Whiting, NJ. He was the loving grandfather to Cindi Mago and husband Michael of Howell, Nicole Gacsi and husband Michael of Vincentown, Daniel J. Martin and fiancé Kaitlyn of Roselle Park, and Angelo Martin of Roselle Park. He was a great-grandfather to Gabriella, Vincent, and Dominic Mago, and Ariana, Jakob, and Daniella Gacsi. He is also survived by sister-in-law Valerie Costanzo of Jupiter, Florida, many nieces and nephews including entrusted Daniel Costanzo Jr. of Hazlet, and long-time friend Lena Cunningham of Southampton, NY.
