Joseph Cook, 60, of Ocean Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York. Joseph was born on July 1, 1961, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and grew up in the Elmora Section. Later in life, Joseph spent some time living in Holmdel, while taking care of his beloved mother, Rosalie. About two years ago, he settled in Ocean Township. Before his retirement, Joseph worked as a toll collector and member of the maintenance staff for the NJ Highway Authority/Garden State Parkway. Joseph will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph J. and Rosalie (Horack) Cook, and his uncles, John Cook and Bob Roessle. Joseph is survived by his adoring fiancée, Donna Marie Dowd, his loving brothers, Steve Cook and his wife, Carolyn, and Thomas Cook and his companion, Carolanne Tobias, his cherished aunts and uncle, Annemarie Cooke and her husband, Doug McCray, Barbara Horack Roessle, and Patricia Cook, and his treasured nephews, David and James Cook. Joseph also leaves behind his dear cousins, Robert Roessle, Jennifer Roessle and her husband, Jamie, John Cook and his wife, Maria, Theresa Molyneux and her husband, John, and Elizabeth Cook-Davis, and his beloved friends, Giuseppe “Pino” Cerbone, Joe and Toni Marie White, Marcelino “Papo” Ortero, Donna Meyers, Bryan and Diane Lidsky, Joe and Eileen Brady, Maggie Thomas and her companion, Marc Smith, and Dennis “Sarge” O’Rourke and his companion, Nicole Rodriguez, along with many more special friends and extended family.
