Joseph Clifton Woods, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle, and loyal friend, went to be with our Lord on November 2, 2013. Joseph was born on August 30, 1924, in Mercury, TX, to Victor H. Woods, Sr., and Lela Elizabeth Long. He was married to Edith June Lollar on June 19, 1944, in Hooker, OK. Joseph served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 as an airplane and engine mechanic. He was a carpenter by trade and worked at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, TX, for many years. He was a talented musician. He passed his love for music to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready to hear or tell a joke. He loved to fish and bowl. Joseph is survived by his children, Michael C. Woods of Abilene, TX, Kathleen M. Smart (Kenny) of Cambridge, WI, and Donna P. Newell (Kerry) of Cotopaxi, CO; four grandchildren, Jonathon Waters (Christa) of Pueblo, CO, Jason Woods (Misty) of Big Spring, TX, Sean Newell (Jessica) of Canon City, CO, and Heather Saint of Cotopaxi, CO; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sisters- and brothers-in-laws, Peggy Woods, Wayne Lollar, Joye Hicks, Marie (Merl) Hicks, Alice (Sam) Hayden, Esther (Corky) Parker, and Byron (Beth) Lollar; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith June; parents, Victor and Lela Woods; his father- and mother-in-law, Benton and Mayme Lollar; one sister, Ada Lorene (Woods) Petty; two brothers, Charles Robert Woods, and Victor H. Woods, Jr.; two daughters, Patricia June Woods and Carole Elizabeth Woods Waters; and two grandsons, Kelley Ray Woods and Joseph Christopher Foltz.
