Joseph Charles Rigley, 58, of Elkhart, died Friday (Sept. 5, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital.

His was born March 24, 1950 to Charles Cyril and Frances Violet (Keene) Rigley. On Dec.29, 1969, he married Brenda Jean Story in Elkhart.

She survives, along with one daughter, Cassi (Jeff) Stutsman of Elkhart; three brothers, George (Aggie) Rigley of South Bend, Bob (Kathy) Rigley of Glendale, Ariz., and Glen Stoeckinger of Elkhart; six sisters, Joan (Jerry) Schultz of South Bend, Norma (Danny) Thompson of Duncan, Okla., Ellen (Russ) Stults of Iron City, Tenn., and Patricia (Claude) Sluder, Betty (Gary) Smith and Mary (Drex) Dickerhoof, all of Elkhart; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Rigley was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Rigley worked for Hackney Inc., Elkhart, for more than 30 years, and most recently worked at Four Winds International, Elkhart. He had been involved in scouting for more than 20 years and had been an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 31 in Bristol, where he earned the Wood Badge. He was a 1970 graduate of Elkhart High School and enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren.
