Joseph Clayton Lucia, Sr., 85, of Mansfield, CT passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He worked diligently for his family his entire life. He was employed as a C.O. for twenty years at the Somers Correctional Facility, then as a prison chaplain for an additional 20 yrs. He reached many people’s lives with his big heart. For years, he worked with Paul Newman at Christmas to collect Christmas gifts for all the prisoners’ children. He kept in contact with newly released prisoners and counseled them, leading many to the Lord.

He was a friend, mentor, and counselor to many. He is survived by his wife Kathy Clark, his sisters Agnes Raymond and Annette Smith, sons Joseph Jr (Jeanne) and Tod (Pam) and daughters Donna (Richard), Cindy (Gary) and Arline (Steve). Also, his 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. His stepchildren are Ginger (Charlie), Robert (Sandy), Clark (Kathy) and Elizabeth (Robert). He was predeceased by his wife Arlene (Victoria) and grandson Allen Parker.
