Joseph “Bobby” Motta Jr. of Bristol passed away on January 4, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Jane Marie (Sylvia) Motta, to whom he was married for 56 years before she passed away last year.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Brown) Motta. He was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School and employed by Fram Allied Signal as an engineer for 34 years before retiring. He was an avid pigeon enthusiast and will be remembered most as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children: Joseph Motta III and his wife Denise of Rehoboth; John Motta of Bristol; and James Motta and his wife Ann of Portsmouth. He was the loving and proud grandfather of Shane Donahue, Gabrielle, Hunter, and Casey Motta.
