Joseph (Ben) Fresquez, 81, of Brighton, passed away on June 6, 2017 in Aurora. Mr. Fresquez was born on March 19, 1936 in Brighton, Colorado to Rosendo and Antonia (Garcia) Fresquez. Joseph attended public schools in Brighton. He married Arlene Williams on May 14, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Fresquez was a truck driver in the Denver area where he drove for Walt Flanigan Trucking, Aggregate, Inc. and in 2015 retired from U.S. Transport at the age of 79. Joseph served in the US Navy Korean conflict on board the USS Markalb and USS Yosemite. A lifetime resident of Brighton, Joseph was a member of St.

He is survived by his spouse, Arlene; daughters, Pat (Chris) Tortolito of Denver, Deann (Maynard) Morrison, Maria (Gregory) Duran and Tammy (Kevin) Cordell all of Brighton; sons, Matthew (JoLynn) of Longmont, Ron (Marianne) Fresquez of Fountain, CO, John Brist of Brighton and Josef (Michelle) Geist of Reunion, CO; sisters, Bea Garcia, Frances Reyes, Pat Barela all of Brighton, Elaine Baird of Colorado Springs and Marie Jaramillo of Northglenn; brothers, John and Bobby of Brighton and Gilbert of Thornton, CO; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife, Frances in 1997; son Michael in 2013; and brother Ernie in 1973.
