Joseph Baima, Jr., 91, of Ottawa died on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Joseph was born on December 17, 1927 in Ottawa, to Joseph and Josephine (Nadini) Baima, Sr.

He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Joseph served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Louise Johnson on February 23, 1952, in Ottawa. He owned and operated Ivy Way Market in Marseilles until 1977 and retired from GE Plastics in 1990. He was a member of St. Francis Church, the Marseilles VFW, and the Ottawa Knights of Columbus. Joseph was an avid Euchre player and enjoyed playing golf at Prairie Lakes.

He is survived by 3 children, Joseph (Mary Pat) Baima, III, of Marseilles, Jay (Laura) Baima, of Chicago, and Lisa Baima, of Round Lake, 4 grandchildren, Michael Baima, Molly Cunico, Theresa Baima, and Gioia Dini-Baima, 4 great grandchildren, Vivian, Wyatt, Garrett, and Lillie, and a sister Lorraine DeWig, of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise, on January 26, 2002, and a sister, Rose Rexroat.
