Joseph A. Santovenia, age 30, died unexpectedly on March 17, 2022. He attended local New Smyrna Beach schools and was active in scouting, band, drama and karate. He was very intelligent, talented, funny and a fast learner. Joseph was a hard worker who cooked or served at many local restaurants before and after becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. He had a gift for helping ease people’s pain using the massage therapy skills he acquired. For those who could not afford treatment, he would provide therapy free of charge.
As a young man, Joseph learned what the bible teaches and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Pedro and Gina Santovenia and sister, Sandra Santovenia. Other survivors are his uncle Jorge Gomes, aunt Carmen Romanowski and first cousins, Christopher (Amanda) Gomes, Alyssa (fiancée Jeremy) Gomes and Cathyann (Nathan) Ealy. Joseph was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Antonio and Aida Gomes and Paternal grandparents, Pedro E. and Edy Santovenia. He is survived also by numerous cousins and relatives in the USA and Brazil.
