JOSEPH ANTHONY MAZZARESE

Joe was born on Long Island , New York, the only child of Joseph C. Mazzarese, Jr. and Clelia Jean Mazzarese. He lived in New York as a child before moving Florida. After graduating from Lakeland High School he enrolled in the University of South Florida before joining the U.S. Army, where he served in the Military Police in Vietnam and France from 1965-67.
As a young man, he had a passion for auto-crossing, to which his many trophies attest.
He was a Traffic Analyst for the City of Tampa before moving to Miami Dade County in 1979.
He graduated from Florida International University with a degree in political science and in addition, took graduate courses at Nova Law School and FIU.
He was a member of the Coral Gables Country Club, the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, The American Legion Marlin Moore Post 133, American Water Works Association and Weftec.
Since 1992, he has served on the Board of 1446 Ocean Drive Association in various capacities.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Neysa Nelms Mazzarese; his daughter, Tegan Ullainee Clelia Morales, his son-in-law, David Manuel Morales and his much-loved grandson, Maddox Joseph Morales. His son, Zarek Joseph Mazzarese passed away in 1999.
