PIZZI, Joseph Aldo, “Joe,” age 85, died in Cape Canaveral, Sunday, October 16, 2016. Born in Naples, Italy, son of Ninfadorina Longo and Angelo Pizzi, Joe came to the US as a student to study high school at Wilbraham and Monson Academy, Wilbraham, MA, at the age of 18, and went on to graduate from Bryant College, in Rhode Island, with a bachelor of Business Administration. He then worked, as an accountant, in the American Consulate of Venezuela, where he met his late wife, of 44 years, Olga Maria Puron, whom he married, in Havana Cuba in 1960. He graduated from George Washington University’s, Milken School of Health Administration, in Washington DC, receiving a Master of Hospital Administration, and did his residency and obtained a permanent position at Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga, TN. He later moved to North Adams Massachusetts to oversee his family’s coat and fur tailoring, and Ready-To-Wear business, Pizzi’s, which he later expanded to Chattanooga, where he moved his family and became a well-established entrepreneur. There he eventually developed real estate and started a jewelry business. In 1981, he moved to his beachfront residence in Cape Canaveral, and bought a restaurant, in Cocoa Village. Later, he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance and was the administrator of Weusthoff Health System Out-Patient Clinics, throughout Brevard. He also developed his beachfront property, where he resided until moving to Cocoa Beach with his son, in 2010.
He left behind his two Children Jose and Olga Pizzi and three grandchildren, Robert Francis, Christina Nicole, and Anamari Patricia Garcia.
