WORCESTER – Joseph A. Turcotte, 71, of 482 Park Ave., a retired postal clerk, died Saturday in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Marguerite (Forget) Turcotte; two daughters, Susan E. Turcotte of Rowayton, Conn., and Elaine R. Turcotte of Worcester; a son, Robert L. Turcotte of Hull; a brother, Arthur Turcotte of Augusta, Maine; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. A son, Raymond H. Turcotte of Worcester, died in 1968. He was born in Augusta, son of Joseph and Florentine (Roseberry) Turcotte, and moved here in 1931. He then lived in Augusta from 1949 to 1953, when he returned to Worcester. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He served in the Navy during World War II and in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Mr. Turcotte was a postal clerk for 30 years at the Worcester Post Office, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
