Josefina (Rivas) Madera, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was the widow of Hipolito Madera. Born March 19, 1941 in Patillas, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Aquedo and Paulina (Ruiz) Rivas.
Josefina worked in environmental services for St. Luke’s Bethlehem for over 30 years until retiring. She was a member of Templo Refugio, Bethlehem. She was an avid scripture reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors: Josefina will be lovingly remembered by; daughters, Carmen Madera Lopez, Lucyn Morales (Jesus), Maria Cofre, Nitza Colon (Juan), Lourdes Trinidad (Rafael); sons, Hipolito “Hip” Madera, Jr. (Candy), Jesus “Manny” Madera (Maria), and Daniel Madera (Iris); 18 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren; great great granddaughter; brother, Ramon Rivas. She was predeceased by 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
