Josef Craig Breslin
April 20,1983 – January 6,2022
Josef was born on April 20, 1983 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood Colorado to Robert and Eileen Breslin. He is survived by his wife Altaira Breslin, his companion and confidant of 15 years; his Father Robert Breslin husband to Valerie Breslin, his Mother Eileen Breslin, Brother Jamey Breslin, husband to Jessire and their daughter Bexley. He was grandson of the late William and Patricia Breslin, and the late George and Hazel Rupright. He also leaves behind a very large extended family and many, many friends.
Josef was taken from us far too soon, he passed away suddenly but peacefully due to complications from pneumonia and although his departure was abrupt, he lived a life filled with love and many accomplishments. Josef graduated from Heritage High School as a member of the National Honor Society and played football in his time there. Afterwards, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Denver and worked as an HLA platelet coordinator for Vitalant (Bonfils) for many years. During his time there he donated constantly; blood, platelets and granulocytes in order to help all that he could. That was just the way he was. A man full of generosity and such a kind, beautiful spirit. He always spoke fondly of his patients and coworkers.
His true passion, however, was for music; particularly guitar but also played bass and was known to occasionally slap a cajon or get down on some drums. He was a member of two bands in his lifetime, “We are Erased”, a grind-core band, and “Mustard” who put out an amazing album called Classic Yellow that is worth a listen if you can find it. He was trying to start a third at the time of his unexpected death and had put in an audition to join the satirical band “Steel Panther.”
