Jose Raúl Cruz Henriquez, born on August 1, 1999, was tragically taken from this life on March 13, 2016 in Farmers Branch, Texas. He was only sixteen years old.
Jose was born to Ana Henriquez and Alex Cartagena in Laredo, Texas. He was a loving big brother to his three siblings, Esthefani Escriche (age 7), Ana Cartagena (age 12), and Julio Gustavo Cartagena (age 13). Jose attended Texas Can Academy and worked with his mother at a factory. His goals in life were to graduate from Texas Can Academy and to financially help his grandmother. Jose saved and used the money he earned to buy his car. He was known for helping his siblings and family in any way he could. Jose greatly enjoyed dancing, eating, playing soccer, and spending time with his girlfriend, Juliana Saldivar. Jose Cruz was an incredible, honest, and innocent young man that made people laugh as he joked around. His family and friends will never forget his laughter or his amazing smile.
Jose Raúl Cruz Henriquez is survived by his loving parents, Ana Henriquez and Alex Cartagena; his siblings, Julio Gustavo Cartagena, Ana Cartagena, and Esthefani Escriche; his grandparents, Norma Ochoa and Jesus Cisreros; his cousins, Nora Rubi and Oscar Salinas; his girlfriend, Juliana Saldivar; his dog, Boffy; and his many, many friends.
