Jose M. Garcia, Jr. was born in Patterson, NJ on June 28, 1967 to Arcelia Bracero and Jose Manuel Garcia. He was their only child. Jose, or “Pito” as he was known to those closest to him, was a member of Salem High School’s Class of 1986. After high school he worked at various jobs including but not limited to landscaping, carpentry, and cable tv installation. He met Kelley Doucette, fell in love, and on 7/4/1989, his son Christopher Jordan was born.
Pito loved going to Canobie Lake Park every summer and family barbeques. You would often find him in the kitchen cooking up something fragrant and delicious that he learned from his mother. Oh how he loved to feed his friends and family! A true New Englander, Pito was an exuberant fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Because of his kind, loving and generous heart, Pito was often described as “someone who would give you the shirt off his back and the last $10 in his pocket”. He had a strong faith in God which was reflected in his many good deeds.
Pito is survived by his son, Christopher Jordan Doucette living in Las Vegas, his mother, Arcelia Bracero from MA, the man who raised him and became his father, Wilfredo Bracero from Puerto Rico, his biological father, Jose M. Garcia from Puerto Rico, his paternal brother Jose Garcia, paternal sisters Ada Ilsa Garcia, Sonia Yvette Garcia, Yvonne Jeanette Garcia, and Mildred Garcia all from Puerto Rico, 4 uncles, 16 aunts, and more than 21 cousins scattered throughout the United States who all love him very dearly.
