Jose L. Basaldua, 90, entered the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Jose was born on February 22, 1928 in Mercedes, Texas to Santiago & Julia Limon Basaldua. He was a longlife resident of Harlingen & was employed by Rainbo Baking Company for 43 years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking trips to visit South Padre Island. Jose will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olivia Basaldua; son, Joe “Pipo” Basaldua Jr, and sister, Herlinda Del Valle.
Jose is survived by his children, Guadalupe B. Reyna (Rene), Olga Basaldua, David (Alma) Basaldua, and Martin & Jimmy Basaldua; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; sister, Eva Gonzalez; and brothers, Gustavo & Geronimo Basaldua.
